The future of False Creek South
The Housing for All working group of DSoV invites you to an online forum:

Tuesday, 7p.m. to 8:30p.m.

Join us online at meet.jit.si/DSoV

Join us for a discussion and information session on the proposed redevelopment of False Creek South which is coming before Vancouver city council this week.

We’ll hear from False Creek South residents and organizers, including Richard Evans, Chair of RePlan, and Maria Roth, Co-Chair of our Co-op Authorized Working Group.

The City real estate department’s plan, which is being pushed by Mayor Stewart, would see a major increase in housing on City-owned land in False Creek South but would result in the demolition of much of the social and coop housing as well as a significant decrease in the percentage of coop and social housing.

False Creek South is a model that has successfully prioritized co-op and social housing, and that model needs to be improved and expanded for many more people - rather than reversed in favour of displacement of low-income residents for new market developments.

The Housing for All campaign advocates for protecting and expanding coop and public housing in Vancouver. We believe that housing is a human right. For more information on the Housing for All campaign, check out our web page: https://www.democraticsocialistsyvr.ca/housing-for-all
