The Israeli occupation forces are currently invading the city of Rafah in the South of Gaza. .Rafah is currently sheltering 1.4 million refugees who are being forcibly starved by the Israeli blockade of aid and commerce. Infectious diseases are running rampant in the Gaza Strip, as a result of Israeli sabotage of the water and sewage systems. The healthcare system has been crippled by bombings and artificially imposed shortages of fuel and medical supplies. Amid these horrific conditions, the IOF has launched their ground assault. The Rafah crossing is now cut off completely threatening the few functional healthcare facilities. 

Israel is bombing a tent city that is home to over 600,000 children. This is an act of genocide. All peace loving people, anyone who claims to stand for our common humanity, must stand up now to say - no more bombings, ceasefire now, and free Palestine.

This heinous action by the settler state CANNOT be allowed to occur without fierce resistance from people of conscience around the world.

The DSOV calls for our  membership and everyone reading this to join the student encampment  at UBC, join marches and street actions in your communities, or engage in direct action as you are able. Palestine is a  litmus test, and we cannot fail the people of Gaza. Free Palestine.
