May Day Social Justice Info Fair
The May Day Social Justice Information Fair is an annual event held in Grandview Park, Vancouver, since at least 2015. It provides a relaxed opportunity for various social justice organizations to engage with the community, share information, and foster solidarity.
The fair is open to a broad range of groups, encouraging participation from those advocating for social, economic, and environmental justice. Participants are invited to set up information tables and interact with attendees.
The Fair has had many organizers including at one time The Vancouver District Labour Council. Recently, the Democratic Socialists of Vancouver (DSOV) was asked to take over and 2025 was our second year hosting.
As an annual event the fair is a great opportunity for new DSOV members to come out and volunteer, and meet with organizers.
The fair typically features music performances, such as the singing of "The Internationale" and appearances by local choirs and bands.
The event also includes acknowledgments of the traditional territories on which it takes place, recognizing the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
We are grateful to have shared the event with the following performers in 2025
Rowan and his accordion for the Internationale
Solidarity Notes Choir
The Gram Partisans
And to Annie Dan for her Land Acknowledgements and Welcome statements over the years.
